Mar 04, 2019
A reputed CBSE Affiliated school conducted a unique way of “Around the world Fair” (All 8 corners of world under one roof) in school for parents through students. As the school has spent decent amount of money to bring the concept into reality, and more importantly to make everyone know about the importance of the fair, the school has sent notice to parents for payment of Rs- 100/- for each visitor, if they wish to see the entire fair. The next day few of the parents have reacted and send the children to school with cut-outs saying that we don’t have money, and we could not able to pay money, why should we pay money for my children work…etc. Many people have a misunderstanding about learning outcomes through different activities at school. As they think, it is meant for non-scholastic areas but in reality activities has become an important aspect of modern education and anyone can take up these as a specialized subject for making a career. The Cornerstone School, Hyderabad poured out their creativity and talent at the “Around the world Fair” held at the school. Children of all grades participated in the Fair that brought out the talent and skills of the children. The “Around the world Fair” displayed at the school, enables the children to showcase their interest and understanding of around the world. Students of all grades actively participated in the Fair by demonstrating various models and presenting their performance which also included some eco-friendly models like 8 corners of world under one roof. The students presented their observation with the support of class teachers. Students also displayed different culture and religions which exhibited their knowledge and interest in exotic places.
The rhythms of the world were all wrapped up in dance on the stage performances by students of Grade 1 and 2 and school has put lot of effort to showcase the 8 different dance steps, fantasy world, shuttle buses carrying the parents from the entrance to the airport, the school had boarding pass counters, waiting lounges, tour guides, air marshals which gave the look and feel of an airport, a model of an airplane was used as pass-way into the six incredible continents. Children described their works under the guidance of the teachers. The Fair was held to provide a platform for children to showcase their knowledge, creativity, investigative skills and talent. "It also boosts their confidence when they get appreciation for their creative talent," said the Principal of the school. The Fair was a fun and enriching one which motivated the children to give their best. But finally there is disappointment to the school because of intentions of few negative parents, here parents are indirectly, unknowingly motivating, encouraging their children to demonstrate a negative and disrespectful attitude. Let’s discuss on the further actions that can be taken to avoid such discord among the parents and the school.
