When it comes to managing things, what is the condition of your children today? From arranging their toys and making their bed to scheduling their school work, have you trained them enough that they can do it on their own? Are you thinking that they’re just kids or teenagers and that they’d get better when the turn into adults? Well, let me point out that it’s all these small habits that make up a routine and habits just don’t change overnight. This is why you need to give your children the opportunity to manage things by themselves, be it as simple as arranging their shoes or keeping their personal belongings safe. Instruct them how things should be handled and managed right from their youth. In fact, some children have a bad start because their parents love them too blindly to train them enough for their adulthood. Parents, the right time to start training your children is when they are still tender. If you fail to do so, their adult life is bound to turn out messy. Wondering how to accomplish that? It’s quite simple! Make them assist you in rearranging the furniture or the cupboards. Teach them how to make their bed in the morning. Teach them how to fit chores into their schedule. Make them do the dishes or laundry with you. Let them help you with vacuuming, dusting, and gardening. On one hand, it will be beneficial to them and on the other hand, you will have a fun company and who knows? You might end up spending some quality time with your kids. If you fail to do so, it will be harder task to correct the ways of your children once they drift into the world and it will end up being a problem not only to you but to them as well. After all, Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build out youth for the future”, and this responsibility primarily lies in the hands of parents. Train them enough so that they would know what exactly are they doing and where they are headed. Prepare them for those times where life takes an unexpected turn and they seem to be stuck at a point of standstill. They need to learn what it means to be an adult even before thy turn into one. Who knows? They might even end up respecting you even more when they take a glimpse at the chaotic world of adults. The thing is, imagine how grateful your children would be when everything in their adult life in going wrong but they still succeed in managing thing efficiently only because you trained them enough. After all, isn’t that what parents wish for their kids, that they would be able to stand on their feet in any kind of situation no matter how messed up it is? So, parents, start training your children now; there is no other better timing.
